Volunteer Opportunities in Art, Experience, and Friendship
Our Art Institute empowers participants by providing a venue where creative techniques can be mastered. We offer dance classes, painting and pottery lessons, printmaking processing, and music therapy sessions. We love having volunteers share their experience in these fields with our amazing individuals at Providence Center. You can see some of the art that our participants have made with the help of volunteers at our Providence Products Page!
As part of our Employment Services, our participants lead independent lives earning their own living with partnered businesses. If you have the tools and the capacity to mentor an individual who is eager to join the working world, we would love to pair you with someone. Use your expertise to help make a difference in the lives of our participants through our comprehensive programs and services
We also welcome volunteers who just want to get to know our participants and provide companionship as a friend! Our volunteers enjoy spending time over lunch, working with their new friend on the computer, and reading with the extraordinary individuals who embrace Providence Center. If this sounds like the right fit for you, then volunteer with Providence Center and help make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.
Make a Difference as a Volunteer
Volunteers are a tremendous asset to our programs. At Providence Center, we have seen the benefits for everyone involved when volunteers work with our participants. The smiles that result from volunteer interactions are infectious, and we know that you would be an asset to our organization.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and must go through a background check. We are also happy to work with eligible students fulfilling community service requirements, but ask that they volunteer for a minimum of 40 hours.
