Providence Center’s Horticulture program provides vocational training in a working nursery. Our growers are gaining in-depth knowledge of horticulture and are building the professional skills necessary for community employment.
Donate now to help support Providence Center's dynamic programs and services. When you make a gift to Providence Center, whether it’s a donation or the gift of volunteer time, you are helping to enrich the lives of 500 of our community’s residents. There are many ways you can help the men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities who count on Providence Center.
Our Greenhouse and Gardens provide seasonal plants and a large selection of native plants, including wetland grasses. All of our products are grown using integrated pest management which limits the use of any pesticides.
Through our wetlands program, our growers are contributing to our community through environmental restoration projects including the rebuilding of Poplar Island in the Chesapeake Bay. In partnership with the Magothy River Association and the Anne Arundel Community College, they offer floating gardens for homeowners to beautify their waterfront and clean our local waterways.
Providence Center has worked with a number of prestigious organizations and companies to meet their larger-scale growing needs, including the Army Corps of Engineers, Dominion Energy, Anne Arundel County Community College, Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and Maryland Therapeutic Riding.
Located at our Jean Bradbury Building at 370 Shore Acres Road in Arnold, our Greenhouses and Gardens are open to the public. Special orders and contract growing are welcome and delivery services are available.
