Empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead independent lives.
In the case of inclement weather or emergencies, please watch WBAL-TV or WJZ-TV or listen to WBAL 1090 AM at approximately 6:15 AM to learn the status of our transportation vehicles.
There is a saying that goes, “90 percent of life is just showing up.” But showing up is one of the challenges that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities face when building a fuller life in the community.
Providence Center recognizes that being able to “show up” is imperative to our person-centered approach to meeting the needs and goals of everyone we serve.
That is why we have one of the largest fleets of vans and buses in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to transport those we serve to their:
- Residential programs
- Volunteer assignments
- Job interviews
- Social activities
- Home with family
Headquartered at our Jean Bradbury Building on Shore Acres Drive in Arnold, our vast transportation system enables our individuals to be empowered with access to transportation.
Transportation hours are Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Importance of Our Growing Fleet of Transportation Vehicles
Providing a critical link between our individuals and the opportunities our community has to offer.
When we started in 1961, Providence Center had just one van. Now we operate a fleet of approximately 50 vans, trucks, and cars that navigate our highways, byways, and neighborhoods—all to ensure that Providence Center individuals can be present, active citizens and enjoy stimulating experiences in their daily lives.
Our reliable and wide-spread transportation services empower those we serve to gain greater independence and lead more enriching lives.
Donate now to help support Providence Center's dynamic programs and services. When you make a gift to Providence Center, whether it’s a donation or the gift of volunteer time, you are helping to enrich the lives of 500 of our community’s residents. There are many ways you can help the men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities who count on Providence Center.
